Eastern Serbia is a haven for those who love to explore natural beauty.

Just 30 km from Negotin, nestled in the foothills of Mount Miroč, awaits a unique natural wonder - the towering canyon of Vratna Gates and its stone arches.

Vratna Gates, also known as Vratna Prerasti, are tall stone arches (bridges) that represent the remnants of a once grand cave. They are situated within the canyon of the Vratna River. Such formations are very rare worldwide, and here, there are three of them: the Great, Dry, and Small arches.

In close proximity to this natural masterpiece lies the Vratna Monastery. To reach the gates, follow a well-maintained and marked trail that starts from the Vratna Monastery and continues along beautiful landscapes and viewpoints of the Vratna Canyon.

The Great Arch has a length of 45 meters, a width of 23 meters, a height of 26 meters, and a vault depth of 30 meters. The Small Arch spans 15 meters in length, 30 meters in width, 34 meters in height, and with a vault depth of 10 meters. The Dry Arch measures 34 meters in length, 15 meters in width, 20 meters in height, and has a vault depth of 10 meters.

The entire Vratna complex, including the village, monastery, and gates, is surrounded by rivers and forests. Besides being a wonderful place to enjoy the beauty of nature, you can also go hunting in the nearby hunting grounds or fish in the nearby river.

Where is it located?

Vratna Gates are located 30 km from Negotin.
