In the heart of the Negotin region, where vineyards are treasured like the treasures that preserve centuries-old mastery of making top-quality wine, February 14th is dedicated to Saint Tryphon - the patron saint of grape growers and winemakers. This event not only celebrates wine and tradition but also represents a unique blend of spirituality, customs, and oenological pleasure.

Saint Tryphon, a martyr for the faith of Christ, has become a symbol of protection for grapevines through the centuries, particularly revered among grape growers in the Negotin region. On Saint Tryphon's Day, grape growers perform a special ritual of pruning grapevines, believing it will bring abundant yields and prosperity in the upcoming grape-growing season. This day is also marked by cutting the cake, and the celebration continues in the authentic ambiance of the Rajac wine cellars.

The Rajac wine cellars, situated in picturesque surroundings, become the epicenter of the Saint Tryphon event. These old, traditional cellars are characterized by rustic architecture and an atmosphere that evokes the spirit of times past. Visitors have the opportunity to enjoy the charms of winemaking tradition, surrounded by the scent of good wine and the sound of joyful celebration.

What makes this event special are the wines offered to visitors. Black Tamjanika, Prokupac, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, etc. - these wines are like jewels being opened before guests. Winemakers from the Negotin region proudly present their products, sharing not only delicious wine but also stories of tradition and family heritage with visitors.

Saint Tryphon at the Negotin wine cellars is not just an event for wine lovers; it's an opportunity to deeply immerse oneself in the culture and customs of this region. Visitors can experience traditional grapevine pruning, participate in cake cutting, and spend a day in harmony with nature and the spirit of the community that values its winemaking heritage.

This event represents a blend of tradition, faith, and hedonism - an unforgettable experience that will leave lasting memories of the scent of grapevines, the taste of fine wine, and the warmth of Negotin hospitality.

Saint Tryphon at the Negotin wine cellars becomes a journey through time and space, where past and present intertwine in a glass of good wine and the smile of a grape grower who lovingly preserves their heritage.
