Customs from Krajina represent an authentic portrayal of the rich cultural heritage and tradition of the Negotin region. This event, which has been held in the village of Štubik for almost half a century, has its roots in the glorious past. It is dedicated to the great victory of the Serbian and Russian armies, led by heroes such as Karađorđe, Hajduk Veljko, Milenko Stojković, and Petar Dobrnjac, over the Turkish Mula Pasha in 1807.
Every year, on June 18th and 19th, memories of the famous battles at Štubik and Malajnica are awakened. The tradition is preserved and celebrated through a diverse program, including: solemn laying of flowers and wreaths at the monument to fallen warriors, competitions of musicians and pipers, shepherd's games, cooking competitions of authentic gastronomic specialties, the selection of the most beautiful shepherdess, and more.
Customs from Krajina is not just an event but a journey through time that revives the spirit of the community.
