At the foot of the mountain, at an altitude of 480 meters, lies Stevan's Meadows, with natural and climatic conditions rivaling the most famous spas in Serbia.
Deli Jovan is perfect for hiking, cycling, and mountaineering, so if you're a fan of these sports, you can try out some new adventures here. If you're not into sports, you can enjoy walks with magnificent views of the Negotin plain on one side and the Bor Valley on the other. Moreover, the terrain is excellent for organizing picnics.
Marked hiking trails lead to the summit of Deli Jovan at an altitude of 1,138 meters above sea level, where a repeater station is located. The trail winds through picturesque landscapes: ancient beech and oak forests, flower-filled meadows, and pastures. The first hiking trail starts from the village of Popovica and leads to the summit (1,141 meters above sea level, TV tower), covering a distance of 9 km one way (about 7 hours of walking). The second hiking trail starts from Stevan's Meadows, passes through Veliki Deli Jovan, and reaches the summit along the ridge, covering a distance of 8.5 km one way (1,141 meters above sea level, TV tower, about 7 hours of walking).
For hunting enthusiasts, the fenced hunting ground is a special attraction.
Where is it located?
It is located approximately 25 km from Negotin.
How to get there?
To reach Negotin from Belgrade, take the A1 highway, then exit right at Paraćin onto Road 36. Follow the road to Zaječar and after Zaječar, turn onto Road 35 towards Negotin.
To reach the summit of Deli Jovan, you can take two routes: from the village of Popovica and from Stevan's Meadows, via the Negotin - Zaječar road.
You can also reach Negotin via the Đerdap Highway, passing through Donji Milanovac.
