Welcome to a slice of paradise on the Danube shore, which combines the magnificent beauty of untouched nature, rich flora and fauna, and historical heritage. Djerdap National Park is situated along the border between Serbia and Romania, covering an area of 636 km2, making it the largest national park in Serbia. It is significant in European terms due to its natural and cultural heritage.

On the right bank of the Danube, this natural treasure stretches for 100 km, from the Golubac Fortress to the ancient fortification of Diana (Kladovo).

Djerdap National Park is named after the most beautiful and striking gorge along the entire course of the Danube. The Đerdap Gorge is the largest gorge breakthrough in Europe. It consists of four gorges and three basins arranged in the following order: the Golubac Gorge, the Ljupkov Basin, the Gospođin Vir Gorge, the Donji Milanovac Basin, the Veliki and Mali Kazan Gorges, the Oršava Basin, and the Sip Gorge. The most beautiful gorges are Mali and Veliki Kazan, where the Danube is the narrowest and deepest. Here, the Danube narrows to just 140 meters and reaches a depth of 90 meters, so the bottom is about 30 meters below the level of the Black Sea.

With rocky cliffs reaching heights of up to 500 meters, the canyon takes your breath away with its wilderness and beauty along the Danube shore. Take a walk along the shore or enjoy a boat ride to feel the power of Djerdap.

Djerdap National Park is home to very rare plant species. It is characterized by the abundance and diversity of animal species. Birdwatching has become one of the favorite activities of visitors, as they can spot various species inhabiting this area. The forests around the canyon provide a home for numerous wildlife.

In addition to its natural beauty, Djerdap also preserves rich historical heritage. In this area lies Lepenski Vir, one of the oldest archaeological sites in Europe, which testifies to the presence of people in this area since the Neolithic period. Make sure to visit Trajan's Plaque, Trajan's Bridge, Diana Fortress, and more.

For adventurers and nature lovers, Djerdap offers numerous activities. Hiking along trails that offer incredible views of the canyon, cycling through picturesque landscapes, and cruising the Danube are just some of the options that will take you into the heart of nature.

Đerdap National Park is a unique place where natural beauty, historical heritage, and adventurous spirit meet. Visit Đerdap and experience one of the most memorable journeys.
