For many, these are among the favorite theatrical and cinematic achievements, featuring the masterful performances of Zoran Radmilović. Faces often light up when we hear Zoran's lines, which today are proudly recited by both younger and older generations.
"Zoran Radmilović, the Actor"! In honor of the giant of Serbian acting, in his hometown of Zaječar, the local theatre has borne his name since 1991.
Today, the National Theatre of the Timok Region "Zoran Radmilović" serves as the cultural epicenter of eastern Serbia. Numerous artistic creations grace its stage, showcasing to the audience a diverse array of artistic endeavors.
Since 1993, the traditional theatre festival "Days of Zoran Radmilović" has been held here. It is a competitive festival, and the award presented, the "Zoran's Mustache," is considered one of the most prestigious accolades in the acting world. The festival takes place in October, lasting a week. Throughout the "Days of Zoran," each evening, the stage hosts some of the most renowned acting names from Serbia and the surrounding region.
Since March 2018, the Zaječar Theatre, as part of the institution of the National Theatre of the Timok Region - the Center for Culture "Zoran Radmilović," has organized around thirty events of various kinds: Gitarijada, Vražogrnački Wheel, the Flute Players' Gathering in Grljan, the International Art Colony Gamzigrad, and more. Additionally, it publishes a magazine on social issues, culture, and art titled "Development."
