Welcome to the picturesque town of Donji Milanovac, where two pieces of folk architecture stand proudly on the banks of the Danube River - Captain Miša's edifice and Tenka's House. These two monuments, located in the heart of the Đerdap Gorge, are a source of stories from the early decades of the 19th century.
Captain Miša's edifice, the home of Miša Atanastasijević, reflects the traditional style of houses from the Poreč region. Reconstructed with special care, this mansion preserves its authentic appearance and unique interior.
Right next to Captain Miša's edifice is Tenka's House, once the home of the prominent figure from Poreč, Stefan Stefanović Tenka. During the construction of the Djerdap 1 hydroelectric power plant in 1970, this traditional single-story building, along with Captain Miša's edifice, was relocated to the plateau near the Danube promenade, where it captivates visitors with its authenticity. The interior of the house retains the spirit of times past
Captain Miša's Mansion and Tenka's House bear witness to the rich history of this area.
