Experience the benefits of healing waters and indulge in relaxation. In the center of Sokobanja, awaits Amam, a wellness experience in a Turkish bathhouse from the 15th century. Although built on the foundations of Roman baths, the Turkish bathhouse retains the ambiance and colors of the Turkish era.
A mosaic next to the pool in the women's bathhouse bears witness to the Roman remains, while the spirit of Turkish times permeates this historically valuable ambiance.
Apart from being a tourist attraction, the Turkish bathhouse or Amam also serves a health and recreational function. Prince Miloš Obrenović stayed here, and from that period, a bathtub made for him is preserved and still in use today.
"Step into the past" and relax in the tub of the Serbian ruler who greatly appreciated the healing properties of this water.
Today, Amam has been transformed into a wellness center, with two thermal mineral springs: "St. Archangel" and "Transfiguration," whose temperatures reach between 43 and 50 degrees Celsius. If you need relaxation, Amam is the right place for you, with massages and various cosmetic treatments available.
Where is it located and how to get there?
It is located in the center of Sokobanja, on the marble promenade.
